If the Wi-Fi goes down, the control unit loses its connection with the motion sensor (which is in the very same room! ) – but the app acts as if everything is fine, so you only realise there’s a problem when the alarm doesn’t go off when it should. Which is quite a serious problem. I therefore strongly advise against it – it’s a waste of money
