I think the kettle is good and good quality, but it's good to think about what you want it for. If you pour a cup of tea several times a day and want the water to keep its temperature longer, that's ok. If you also want to cook with it, pouring often a larger volume, it can be tiring (physically and mentally; ) or you'll get scalded. I wouldn't recommend it for older people either because of the weight.
