After a few years, I switched from an older MacBook Pro 13" (2020) Intel i5 to the new MacBook Air M5 15" and the difference is more than I expected. Honestly, probably the biggest shock for me was the silence. On the old Procek, I was used to the fan spinning on almost everything - sometimes all I had to do was open multiple tabs in Chrome. There's nothing here. No noise, no heating, just silence. And yet the performance is somewhere else. I use it mainly for regular work - WordPress, office stuff, browser, terminal. Nothing extreme, but at the same time it's not exactly easy to use. Everything runs absolutely smoothly, without any stuttering. It's exactly the kind of performance you don't worry about - it just works. For the record, I also tried Cyberpunk 2077. Not that I want to play it, but I was more interested to see what it could do. And I was quite surprised - the game is realistically playable, even on battery. Sure, it's not a gaming machine, but it shows where these Airs have come. Battery life is a chapter in itself. I can get through 15 hours of normal use without any problems, so I deal with the charger minimally. I'm more of a moderately demanding user, so realistically I could get by with a weaker configuration. I took this model mainly because of the larger display and the reserve for the future. But I don't regret it - the feeling of having performance without noise and without compromise is addictive. Overall, the MacBook Air M5 really surprised me. If someone is transitioning from an older Intel Mac, the difference is huge. For me, great satisfaction.
