As a longtime AirPods (AP) Max user, I have to say that I can safely put Max in the drawer: ) These headphones have better sound (though not by much) and even the ANC that the AP already have is very good. They have a skull sensor, so when you take them off, the music/movie stops playing. They work on macOS like an AP - you have something on, you put it on, and the sound goes straight to your headphones. Awesome. Not tested on forks yet, but I assume it will be similar. although. Windows isn't as far along as macOS, but maybe it can handle this. The play/pause button works as expected. The only thing you have to do compared to AP is you have to manually turn them on. The vote throughput is great. What I'm missing here, but it's not terrible (because of the aforementioned fiddling), is sound throughput. You can hear better with AP, this "just" lets voices through. The passive mod is like simply wearing a closed headphone on your head. The case with all the accessories is awesome. Comfortable to wear.
