I had a similar problem with this, always after several steps of receiving a signal from the original controller, information about receiving a command from another device and the need to set it up again from the beginning appeared. It was done by the TV, or other AV equipment or the controller. So, when learning, everything from IR must be turned off in the room, the controller must be placed somewhere between the original controller and the air conditioner, so that it can receive the signal at the same time as the air conditioner unit. I hope this helps someone.
