When Albatros decided not to publish a book that was already ready, following pressure from woke activists, I was very disappointed. Why is it so ungrateful, and why is there actually such a fuss here about this book, which is several years old? It caused quite a stir when it was first released, but everything just seems to reach us a bit late: -)
It isn’t all that important what exactly the book is trying to say. The important thing is that no one must try to stop her from doing so. After all, the possibility of holding a different opinion is something that should go without saying in a free society. It is only through subsequent discussion that the quality of such a society can be assessed, not through preventive bans and coercion. We’ve been through this before; it wasn’t that long ago.
So, although I don’t entirely agree with either side of the debate that this book deals with, I simply had to buy it. For one thing, I want to support the publisher, who’s shown he’s got the guts. But above all, I really want to read the book so that I can take part in the subsequent discussion with a clear conscience. I’m not going to start shouting that I don’t like something when I don’t know anything about it.
