Honestly, I regret not buying this for my dog sooner – probably the best money I've ever spent. I have an American Hairless Terrier and I finally wanted to give him that freedom. Unfortunately, I didn't have him from a puppy, and the lady we got him from when he was a year old left him completely broken. He was even afraid to go up the stairs. Unfortunately, I'm not a professional dog handler and I didn't quite manage to retrain a one-year-old dog to always obey commands, but we gradually built a great, trusting relationship.
Anyway, given his character and general disposition, I was worried he'd have a mental breakdown because he's a bit unstable, autistic, and a scaredy-cat :D (just his own little self) and that he might not cope mentally when I use the vibrate function, let alone give him a shock. He got used to it quickly. I felt pretty bad about it at the beginning, telling myself it was cruel of me to put an electric collar on him, but as I wrote above, it's the best money I've ever spent.
He now usually listens just to the beep, and he's also learned to listen better to normal commands and stays much closer to me than ever before. It's been tested in water too – he loves to swim and chase ducks, and when he does, he doesn't respond to calls at all and gets tunnel vision. Anyway, with this brilliant gadget, I can manage to get him back to me. So for anyone thinking about it and not sure, I definitely recommend it. It has made my life so much easier and given my dog freedom on walks. SO IF YOU'RE HESITATING, DON'T – JUST GO FOR IT. Btw, I don't usually write reviews, but this was a total game changer! :D
The battery lasts for ages. We have it on all the time and don't turn it off. So far, it has only been charged once since we bought it in mid-March.

I bought this and a Bentech T1600 to try out. I suspect they are both made in the same factory in China (they have the same box and different stickers). On Alza they both cost similarly, currently about 2 800kč. On other servers you can get Patpet for 2200 CZK. Bentech has a higher signal range, though not by much. In my experiment about 300 vs 400m range.
