We were really looking forward to this release. It has already made our wait for Christmas much more enjoyable. The fact that Saint Nicholas brings the presents in Poland is, in my opinion, a wonderful opportunity to talk to the children about how every culture celebrates Christmas in a different way, because that is exactly how I present it to my children in everyday life. I always respond to questions about the existence of Father Christmas by saying that Christmas is celebrated differently in every culture, and I sum it up by saying that the most important thing about Christmas is being together. Just like it is in this book. The story really resonates with me and reading it moved me to tears of joy. The word Saint Nicholas can be replaced with Father Christmas or Santa Claus depending on the context. After all, you probably don't leave carrots and gingerbread under the tree for Baby Jesus. Just like we replace the name Péťa with our son's name at home. Highly recommended!

The book is beautiful and we couldn't miss it in our collection, but we are a bit disappointed with the translation. We understand that the original is in Polish and that in Poland presents are probably brought by St Nicholas, but they could have just not translated it literally and used Father Christmas instead, and it would have been fine.
beautiful illustrations as always from this collection
instead of Father Christmas there is Saint Nicholas
