I've been using it for a few years now and have now purchased another. In my home, I use it to initiate DHW circulation and turn off the lights in the hallways when no one is there.
Adjustable motion detection sensitivity
In addition to motion detection, it also measures temperature
In addition to motion detection, it also measures light levels
With the latest version of Hue, you can use different programs for different time periods - e.g. at night, the night light starts for 2 minutes, during the day, the full light starts for 5 minutes, etc. It is also possible to switch between two modes - e.g. night light is on at night and when moving, it turns dim for 1 minute. The timer can also be turned off, so the movement just turns the light on and then you have to manually turn it off. The time program cannot be combined with a light detector or location (sunrise and sunset times), so you are limited to specific times (at least within the official Hue app). If you have Hue paired with your phone, the detector can send motion alerts to your phone (when no one is home), flash lights, or call an emergency line directly (calling from your connected phone).
Attachment to magnet (metal surface) or screw (wood, concrete, etc. - screws and dowel included)
Range of 7 metres to 100° - covers the whole room or larger
Sensor can be rotated 30° in all directions
Optional light response (not triggered during the day)
Time programmability (night light, work light in the morning, rest light in the evening)
Can act as a security system (sends alerts on movement)
Due to the rounded back and the small grip, it cannot be glued - you can get around it by gluing a piece of sheet metal on the surface and the sensor is caught by the supplied magnet
The current version (2024) probably no longer has a temperature sensor (and instead has a light detector? )
I have no complaints about the sensor. Excellent response after motion registration, plus it has a light sensor in it, so you can create very beautiful automations.
Very fast reaction to small movement
Magnet on the back for attaching e.g. on the door frame
Very good battery life
Light sensor and motion sensor in one device
Ability to create scenes in the app
Connecting with apple homekit
Option to set the action after motion detection is completed. When the movement is registered again, e.g. lights off and on, but lights on continuously until movement now registered after a minute
The action interval after the end of motion detection can be set to min. after 1 minute, so e.g. the lights are on too long. This can be bypassed via hue developer, but you need hue bridge and experience with REST
