I was reluctant to play the game when I realised it was ‘Minecraft’-style. Out of curiosity, I stayed put; I was curious to see if Machoke would be as self-centred and stupid as he was in the series… And yes… He wanted Graveler to come to him. I went to tell him that Machoke was looking for him, but he couldn’t be bothered; he told me to transform into him and sort it out for him… When I went to see Machoke… he looked at me and said I looked different… I replied that I didn’t, that I always look like this. Machoke thought for a moment and agreed that it was true, that he just hadn’t seen me for ages… Brilliant. At that moment, the game won me over with its humour.

The gameplay is surprisingly brilliant.
Loop is fun – it’s not about figuring out where to put the green and red benches… But what to do to catch this or that Pokémon. So anyone who’s not just interested in design will enjoy the game.
It wasn’t obvious from the screenshot – at least not to me – but it’s Minecraft-style… If you don’t like it, you’ll struggle… But you can get used to it.
You can analyse practically the whole world, so you’re constantly swamped with information and don’t know what’s important and what isn’t.
