I use an ifi zen air dac and I bought this adapter both for the better sound quality (which is noticeable when plugged in, the sound is fuller and clearer and overall more responsive than when powered only through the supplied usb cable) and due to the dac repeatedly disappearing from the system out of nowhere and automatically switching the output to something else and I had to unplug and plug the dac to re-register, after getting the adapter the problem is definitely not that frequent but still remained, I will still try to buy an active usb hub and connect demanding peripherals to it so the dac has one clean usb just for itself and I avoided interference and overloading the usb in the computer. And to the adapter, it's nicely processed, the cable is braided quality and long, only the price is quite high, but this kind of adapter is almost nowhere to be found so you have no other option and at least you have both from the same brand.
