I bought them twice, the first time they lasted 3 years before one headphone stopped playing; for the second time in four years and no problems. Over time (after about two years of daily use) the padding has worn off, but that is to be expected. Despite my initial mistrust, the folding mechanism can withstand quite insensitive handling (carrying it in a backpack, various drops and shocks). Despite minor shortcomings, I definitely recommend it.
