Unlike other USB hubs, you can mark the individual USB ports with a plastic part. That was probably the biggest reason why I chose this USB hub. You have the option to set the lighting from 11 types. The lighting can also be turned off so as not to disturb you, so you can have it placed even in places where you prefer less lighting or darkness. Since I have a USB hub about a meter from the bed, I have the lighting turned off. You can also turn off individual USB ports with a button. The button is either lit or not.
The only downside I can see is that if the power goes out and the USB hub doesn' t have power, the lighting is set to default when you turn it back on. So I personally have to click through to turn it off.
For some, the button operation may be noisy. I personally don' t mind that much.
