The metal ball is attached to the self-adhesive shank from the bottom with an M4 screw, so there is no problem to replace the self-adhesive base with anything else or screw the ball anywhere. Surprisingly, the small self-adhesive film on the (thoroughly degreased) horizontal part of the deck plate also sticks on the Octavia 1. I'd be very afraid of the vertical, though. On the Felicia, I screwed out the loose button on the dash and screwed the ball directly to the button. It holds perfectly, the ball joint holds the position, the phone doesn't move, even on potholes. On the other car (E36), I'm going to bolt a vent from the bottom to the top of the exhaust that doesn't have a routed louver. But the gap is so small that I wouldn't put a classic "ventilation" holder there and I don't want to lose the possibility of air routing. This holder allows similar tweaks. So, for me, great satisfaction, but not quite for everyone.
