I bought this primarily for the house because of the flies and blowflies, which there are a lot of in our area. It doesn't attract them at all. The flies always fly around it and even change direction to avoid it. A few flies did fly into it and got zapped (it gives a proper jolt when you're not expecting it), but it didn't kill them - it only paralysed them for a moment and after a while, they were gone.
