I was looking for a small, inexpensive laptop to use as a terminal for remote desktop work. Unfortunately, you can’t stop progress, so finding a laptop without a crippled keyboard in 2026 is practically impossible. Fortunately, I found this 2021 model, which has exactly what I need. Normally, it would deserve about 2–3 stars, but thanks to the keyboard, I’m giving it the full score.
Keyboard – the arrow keys are full-size
Keyboard – has a right Ctrl key; no fingerprint reader/Copilot button
Keyboard – has an Insert key
Keyboard – has a Pause/Break key
Keyboard – the F1–F12 keys work as intended straight out of the box (there is no need to reconfigure their behaviour when holding down the Fn key)
Did I say keyboards? It’s comfortable to type on and even has a backlight.
Windows Pro
4 GB of RAM really isn’t enough for Windows 11. However, it’s enough for use as a terminal.
When using the trackpad, the cursor sometimes jumps to the corner of the screen.
