My batteries have always lasted for 5 years or more, except for this one. Still under warranty, the battery struggled to start the car. I claimed a refund, and they found a tiny, barely visible crack on it, see photo of the battery. The warranty does not cover mechanical damage; the seller performs a visual inspection before dispatching, so you can only claim immediately after delivery. Claim conclusion: The battery is partially worn, in working order, with no manufacturing defects. Technician's recommendation: Due to the mechanical damage, we do not recommend using the battery. A minor crack on the battery casing may compromise its gas tightness. So I have a working battery that I am not supposed to use 😲

There are no positives, those were for the old Varta batteries. The 9-year-old Blue Dynamic I pulled out of the cellar works without any issues! This brand new one is just causing me problems. They say the quality of Varta is gone, and I can only confirm it. I'm done with Varta.
