I don't recommend installing the included software at all. It's just going to turn a simple device into a complex freak show. Even though it was formatted to NTFS, I still preferred to format it quickly (3 seconds) in Windows 11 to NTFS again after connecting it to the PC to make sure I would not lose the written data.

in order to save money the manufacturer just clips the European fork to the adapter and the contacts are such dubiously thin wires
