The microwave heats up. The build quality isn't ideal, it was a bit wobbly because of the poor workmanship. It slid around, so I sorted that out by sticking on some anti-slip felt pads, which also fixed the wobbling. The grill isn't great because it only grills for about 5 minutes, then the LED light turns off and it just rotates, so it's not for any proper grilling, more for warming up bread rolls. The combination mode works. When the metal grill rack is in, it has a tendency to spark a little. Otherwise, the control dial is good, but it lacks contrast; there's a groove on it that's also black, so you can't really see what setting you've chosen.
