They don't even last a couple of months, AXYB have terrible switches so sometimes they don't register - and they have since the beginning. Similarly, bumpers (LB, RB) stop registering after a while.
Stick drift also occurs almost immediately and there is nothing you can do about it, max that some deadzone setting in the game would save you.
Eventually, you get so pissed off that you'll get whacked somewhere and you can kiss your complaint goodbye. I wouldn't recommend Elite to even the worst enemy.
If you use the controller seriously - almost daily, you'll claim it after a few months (if you don't break it sooner) and look for alternatives. Just look at the complaint stats, what a piece of crap it is.
