Compact size and excellent ergonomics

Thanks to its compact size and light weight, you can carry the camera with you at all times. The controls are arranged to make control as intuitive as possible. Next to the shutter release, you'll find a rotary mode dial and the rear is dominated by a 3" LCD display with a fine resolution of 1.037 megapixels.

High-end image sensor

The RICOH GR III is equipped with a 24.24MP APS-C size CMOS image sensor that features a high dynamic range and filter-free anti-aliasing structure, utilizing the high-resolution lens characteristic to reproduce details in high resolution.

High quality optics

The GR lens uses an optical system with six elements in four groups while maintaining a focal length of 18.3mm (35mm format equivalent: 28 mm) and excellent f/2.8 aperture. Thanks to the high-precision lens shaping, distortion and chromatic aberration are maximally suppressed. The result is perfectly clear and sharp images.

3-axis image stabilisation

Advanced Shake Reduction stabilisation technology minimises shake on three axes, including tilt, pitch or roll, effectively reducing shutter speeds in 4 stops for perfectly sharp images in every situation.

Ultra-fast autofocus

The camera uses high-speed Hybrid AF with phase detection and contrast detection for precise focusing of subjects. Choose from 8 autofocus modes including moving object tracking. There's also an intelligent face detection and autofocus function.

Intuitive touch focusing

The 3" LCD display supports touch operations for direct control of AF using touch and sliding gestures. You can also focus and capture images while moving the AF frame for fast shooting in any type of composition.

Individual control customisation

For maximum ease of use, the camera allows you to manually adjust the ADJ lever and Fn button modes to quickly recall the most used camera functions. You can switch between the settings using the U1 / U2 / U3 mode dial to tailor the control to your specific shooting situation.

Creative modes and image effects

The RICOH GR III offers a wealth of creative features to unleash your full creative potential. There are special modes for interval shooting, multi-exposure and a range of functions for advanced colour correction, sharpness enhancement, image toning, colour effects and the popular HDR mode.

High-quality macro images

In Macro mode, the camera allows you to focus on a subject 6 to 12 centimetres from the end of the lens, giving almost the same 0.35× magnification as if a macro lens were attached. The result is impressive close-ups with a professional bokeh effect.

Integrated ND filter

With the built-in ND filter, you can easily achieve background blur even in bright outdoor shots at maximum aperture settings. This makes it easy to capture smooth subject movement at low shutter speeds for a wide range of photographic expressions.

Ultrasonic cleaning Dust Removal II

Dust Removal II technology uses ultrasonic wave vibration to thoroughly remove dust particles and debris from in front of the image sensor. This effectively prevents the capture of distracting particles in photographs.

Connection to the Image Sync mobile app

The RICOH GR III is equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 wireless technology, which allows you to connect the camera to the Image Sync mobile app for convenient image transfer and sharing on social networks or remote control of the camera. WiFi and NFC wireless support is also available.
