Robitussin Expectorant expectorant 100 mg/5 ml syrup
Robitussin Expectorants contains the medicinal substance guaifenesin. It is a expectorant that helps loosen mucus and dilute secretions in the bronchial tubes, making coughing more productive and loosening accumulated mucus in the upper airways. The product is intended for adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age.
What is whooping cough and how to treat it?
- A moist cough is caused by the presence of mucus and mucoid chest secretions. It is characterized by a heavy cough coming from the chest.
- Medicines called expectorants may be given to help clear secretions from the airways. Expectorants reduce the viscosity of mucus, thereby thinning bronchial secretions that can be removed from the airways by coughing.
