Sky-Watcher lens AR 102/600 - StarQuest II
Sky-Watcher lens AR 102/600 - StarQuest II
The Sky-Watcher AR 102/600 StarQuest II telescope is suitable for beginner and intermediate astronomers who want to observe wide areas of the sky, the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects. The achromatic refractor, with a 102mm aperture and a 600mm focal length, offers a wide field of view for survey observations. The f/5.9 focal ratio is ideal for viewing star fields, star clusters, nebulae, and brighter comets. The compact optical tube is mounted on a StarQuest II equatorial mount with fine manual controls. The 2″ focuser with a 1.25″ adapter allows you to use both standard and wide-angle astronomy accessories.
Key features of the Sky-Watcher AR 102/600 StarQuest II telescope
- The Sky-Watcher AR 102/600 StarQuest II telescope is designed for both astronomical and terrestrial observation
- Achromatic refractor with a 102mm aperture and a 600mm focal length
- f/5.9 focal ratio supports wide-angle viewing of star fields and larger objects
- The Sky-Watcher telescope's optics let you observe the Moon, planets, comets, star clusters, and brighter nebulae and galaxies
- StarQuest II equatorial mount makes it easy to manually track objects as they move across the sky
- Gears on both axes allow you to precisely adjust the telescope's position
- The mount can be upgraded with a motor drive for the right ascension axis
- The 2″ focuser also supports accessories in the 1.25″ standard
Precise tracking with the StarQuest II mount
After correctly aligning the equatorial mount towards the celestial pole, the apparent movement of an object can be compensated for primarily in the right ascension axis. 360° gears on both axes allow for fine corrections even at high magnifications. For automatic sky tracking, you can add a compatible motor drive for the right ascension axis. The steel tripod provides solid support for the setup, and its height can be adjusted to your observing position.
