The Author Aura XR7 rides on a very lightweight 3x reinforced duralumin frame with universal geometry. The all-carbon fork frame has all the modern features such as solid axles front and rear, threaded inserts ready for mounting racks and fenders, and hydroforming. There are also Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and Mavic Allroad CL branded tubeless wheels. Gearing is handled by a special Shimano GRX 1×12 speed gravel set. The characteristics of the wheel can be easily changed by fitting suitable tyres. In its original specification with Panaracer Gravel SK King 700×40c tyres, it's a fast sport gravel that will go as well on gravel as on the road. Replacing it with narrower road tyres turns it into an asphalt rocket. By fitting wider tread tyres, its off-road capability and comfort are greatly enhanced. The maximum possible width of the casing is 45 mm. When fitted with carriers and panniers, it can also become an expedition special.
