Place the BioLite Solar String 18' Warm White in direct sunlight with the solar panel up or charge via USB-C. To unfold, grasp the top and bottom of the unit with both hands and rotate to open and reveal the light chain. Untangle and light - unwind the chain to the desired length, pass the cable through the cut-out in the hole and close the device. Press the power button to turn on the light and switch between modes. Press and hold the button to switch the device off.
Flashlight charging options
Charging the BioLite String 18' Warm White flashlight before USB is approximately 6 times faster than solar charging due to the higher input power. The result of USB charging and solar charging is the same - a fully charged battery. Solar charging is recommended as a natural source, if you are in a hurry, use USB. The light chain can also be used while charging. However, for optimal charging, it is recommended that the device is first before use fully charged. The battery will charge faster and be ready for use sooner. If you use the lights while charging, the battery will gradually discharge. Charging another device and using the light at the same time is possible. Charging another device discharges the battery in the light. It is recommended that you check the battery level of the light regularly to ensure that you have enough power throughout the period of use.
Solar charging
The BioLite Solar String 18' Warm White Flashlight is charged using red and violet frequencies of visible light, charging time varies according to UV index or overcast sky. In general, the higher the UV index, the faster the charging. Solar panels for charging always need direct sunlight. The sun produces distinctive red and violet frequencies, while normal indoor lighting emits only negligible amounts of UV radiation. When it is cloudy the light will still charge, but more slowly than on a bright and sunny day. If you stand inside, you only get indirect light, but no direct sunlight. It's becauserecommended to go directly to the source and place the lamp in the sun - for example, on the window sill or, for best results, outside.
