Expansion Unit
The DiskStation Manager system manages the added bays directly on the host device. The system immediately detects new drives once connected with the cable. The bays are compatible with various types of storage media. The design accommodates standard 3.5" hard drives as well as smaller 2.5" drives. Users can combine fast SSDs with high-capacity HDDs. The system supports the SATA interface for all media types. The choice of specific drives depends on speed and capacity requirements. Stable cooling of the internal space is handled by two 80×80mm system fans, which can be easily replaced if necessary. The device has a typical power consumption of 29.9W during full operation.
