The Synology RS4826xs+ NAS is a rackmount network storage solution designed for storing large volumes of data in corporate environments and surveillance systems. This 2U device holds 12 hard drives or SSDs in its basic configuration and can be expanded to 48 drive bays using expansion units. The eight-core Intel Xeon D-1739 processor provides the performance needed for demanding business processes, virtualisation, and database operations. The system is complemented by 16GB of DDR4 ECC memory, which supports stable operation when processing multiple tasks simultaneously. The storage supports connecting hard drives into RAID arrays for data protection against failure.

High performance
At its core is an Intel Xeon D-1739 processor with a turbo frequency of up to 3.5GHz. The 16GB of DDR4 ECC RDIMM system memory is expandable to a total of 96GB using six slots. Sequential read speeds reach 6200MB/s, and write speeds go up to 3700MB/s. The storage can be expanded to 48 bays with a total raw capacity of 1152TB using three RX1225RP expansion units.
Advanced network interface
The Synology RS4826 NAS server includes two built-in RJ-45 10GbE LAN ports and one LAN port for out-of-band management. Two PCIe Gen4 ×8 expansion slots enable the installation of additional 10GbE or 25GbE network cards. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports connect external devices and backup power supplies. Network redundancy and failover support reduce the risk of connection downtime.
Reliability and data protection
Two redundant 550W power supplies keep the system running even if one fails. The DiskStation Manager operating system offers Hyper Backup and Snapshot Replication tools for backups. The Surveillance Station service supports 125 IP cameras for property monitoring. The Btrfs file system protects stored data from corruption and makes it easy to restore from snapshots.
