The rack-mounted Synology RS826+ NAS is designed for data storage, backup, and camera system management in both business and home environments. It offers four hard drive bays and supports various RAID configurations. Performance is handled by an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor with a frequency of 2.2GHz and 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 32GB via two memory slots, one of which remains free. Network services and backup
The NAS server supports SAMBA, HFS, and CIFS protocols for easy file sharing across the network. Users can take advantage of iSCSI services, a web server, a database server, or a DLNA multimedia server to access stored content. Data protection is handled by Apple Time Machine backup tools and system snapshots, which allow for data recovery. There is also the option to back up to cloud storage.
Camera management
The Synology RS826+ NAS server allows you to record and manage footage from IP cameras, with support for connecting up to 40 cameras simultaneously, which you will appreciate when building a home or business camera system. One free PCIe slot allows for the installation of additional expansion cards, for example, to expand network connectivity or connect more storage. The integrated 150W power supply ensures the device operates with a typical consumption of 37.73W. The cooling system reaches a noise level of 26.5dB(A) and supports various fan speed modes depending on operational needs. The hot-swap feature lets you replace hard drives during operation without needing to shut down the entire device.
Expandability and connectivity
The Synology RS826+ NAS has four bays for 3.5" SATA HDDs or 2.5" SATA SSDs, with the option to expand to eight drive bays using the Synology RX426 expansion unit. The 1U rackmount design is intended for installation in a 19" four-post rack. There are four LAN network ports, two USB ports, and one PCIe Gen3 x8 expansion slot with an x4 connection. Cooling is provided by three fans with high-speed, cool, or quiet mode settings.
