Teltonika TRB501 is a gateway with support for 5G mobile networks with speeds up to 2.5 Gbit. It offers an Ethernet interface and two configurable I/O interfaces that allow easy integration into industrial equipment. Gateway also provides reliable connectivity to 4G LTE CAT 19 and 3G networks.Supports SA and NSA architectures for 5G infrastructure. The main difference between NSA (Non-Standalone Architecture) and SA (Standalone Architecture) is that NSA uses elements of the 4G radio access network, while the SA variant connects 5G devices directly to the 5G backbone, the control signalling does not depend on the 4G network at all.

Hardware and interface
The device is equipped with four SMA antenna connectors and a power connector. It also includes a SIM slot and an RJ45 Ethernet port with speeds up to 2,500 Mbps. The TRB501 gateway retains all the key features of Teltonika's previous 4G devices, and adds a fast 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port. Thanks to the durable aluminium housing, it is suitable for work in harsh conditions.
Software and protocols
Data security is provided by a wide range of software functions, such as controlling SMS messages, firewall, OpenVPN, IPSec, RMS. TCP network protocols are also available, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP(S), FTP, SMTP, SSL/TLS, ARP, VRRP, PPP, PPPoE, UPNP, SSH, DHCP, Telnet, SMPP, SNMP, MQTT, Wake On Lan (WOL) and VXLAN. Teltonika TRB501 is ready for industrial IIoT applications thanks to its support for Modbus, DNP3 and DLMS protocols that enable seamless integration into SCADA systems, smart grids and telemetry solutions. The industrial gateway is equipped with RutOS. It is a Linux-based OpenWRT operating system. This system offers advanced security features and compatibility with the RMS remote management system.
Example of use in industry
The TRB501 is equipped with a 3GPP Release 16 modem that enables 5G carrier aggregation, efficient spectrum utilization and significantly lower latency. All of this allows the machine to synchronise with its remote operator via virtual reality technology. The operator can control the machine from the comfort of a remote station,while the equipment on site responds in real time. Its compact and durable design makes it suitable for use in industrial environments.
