The AT-X 128 PRO DX V 12-28mm lens is a PRO-DX AT-X 12-28mm wide-angle zoom lens equipped with a follow focus gear for video shooting with DSLR (VDSLR) cameras.. The f/4 aperture is constant throughout the range. The optical design is suitable for use with the current 20Mpx DX sensors. A new feature is the Silent Drive Motor (SD-M), which significantly reduces the noise of the AF mechanism. The GMR magnetic AF sensor accelerates focusing by precisely locating the position of the focusing elements. The surface treatment of the lenses was improved, and the use of FK01 and FK03 SD glass with super-low dispersion gives the lens excellent image quality and reduces various reflections and other optical defects.
The 12-28mm TOKINA lens utilises the newly developed, next generation Silent Drive Motor. Combined with the GMR magnetic sensor, it offers a higher speed and less noise during autofocus. The use of FK01 and FK03 SD glass with super low dispersion gives the lens excellent image quality, corrects colour aberration of the entire image, and accurate focusing of all colours on the plane of the image sensor.
The focusing ring of the lens is equipped with a follow focus system for use in cinematography while shooting video using a DSLR. When using the follow focus, you need to switch the focusing ring to the MF position. The AF mode can be used for still shooting.
Another advantage of the lens is the easy and convenient switch between automatic and manual focusing. The One-touch Focus Clutch allows you to switch between modes by simply moving the focusing ring forward and backward. The lens has a smooth and accurate operation of the focusing ring in manual mode.
