How to play?

Each player is dealt 6 cards. The beginning player chooses one of his cards, places it face up on the table and describes it verbally. It's up to him whether he limits himself to one word or makes up a whole story. The others add one of their cards to it. The cards on the table are shuffled and then spread face up. Now the other players use their number chips to guess which card the starting player has described. Points are then awarded based on the correctness of the tickets. The game ends with the last card in the deck.

Dixit 4 Origins brings new dimensions of imagination and creativity to the world of Dixit. Includes 84 new cards with original illustrations that can be used alone or shuffled into the base game. The cards can be used with the base game components for more variety, or you can use them for a standalone game of Dixit (in which case you would need to get your own scoring board and voting chips and know the rules of the game). The cards offer a varied mix of surreal and fantastical themes that take you back to the very beginnings of imagination. The illustrations on the cards depict dreamlike scenery, mystical creatures, magical objects and symbolic scenes. Here you will find lonely characters in extraordinary situations, fantastic animals, mysterious natural scenery and abstract concepts rendered in colours and shapes. Each card is a small work of art that stimulates the imagination and offers countless possibilities for creating stories and associations.

Meet the illustrator

The illustrations are by French artist Clément Lefèvre. After studying graphic design in Paris and working in communications for several years, he gradually got into illustration, which he had always practiced as a self-taught artist, thanks to chance and encounters. He created his first children's book in 2009 by adapting the text "Le déserteur" by Boris Vian. Since then, Clément has been working as a full-time author-illustrator of children's books and comics for many publishers like Soleil, Le Seuil jeunesse, Chocolat, Frimousse, Bayard, Djeco, cfsl ink and others. He also participates in many exhibitions for French and international galleries. His unique style, combining dreamlike elements with subtle humour and rich imagination, perfectly captures the spirit of Dixit.
