Learning Resources Hedgehog for fine motor skills, pink

Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog from Learning Resources is an educational toy that helps children from 18 months develop key skills. The game involves inserting and removing 12 colourful quills, which helps your child practise their grip and hand-eye coordination, and learn to recognise colours. The toy is made from durable and safe BPA-free plastic. When playtime is over, all the quills can be stored inside the hedgehog's body.

Playful development of key skills

Handling the colourful quills is a natural and fun activity for children. Each time they insert and remove a quill from the hedgehog's body, it strengthens the muscles in their fingers and palms, which is important preparation for holding a pencil and writing in the future. The toy also stimulates visual and tactile perception as children recognise different colours and surfaces during play. The individual quills can also be used as an aid for learning to count.
