What the game is about
In the Whispering Forest board game, you become the guide of four species of magical animals (bear, fox, hare and owl) that inhabit a magical forest shrouded in mystery. In the silence of moss-covered paths and under the canopy of rustling trees, each of you builds your own part of the forest by stacking the pieces and placing your animals on them, which then embark on a journey along the forest paths, where they must complete tasks according to colour combinations - only those who move through the forest with discretion and listen to its whispers will earn the coveted points. The game is suitable for those who enjoy thoughtful strategy, simple rules and beautiful visuals. It will offer joy to families with children and more experienced players.
The course of the game
In each turn, you think about how best to connect the forest paths so that your animals complete as many tasks as possible and bring you victory points. Always choose between two options on your turn - add two new Forest pieces or take a Task piece and place an Animal piece on top of it. Think carefully, because you have a limited number of animals and by clever forest layout you can prepare strong scoring moves. Once you've completed a task, move the animal on and turn over a new piece - this immediately becomes another task that you can complete straight away - so the silent forest path can lead to an unexpected chain of successes. Thanks to this mechanism, you can create chains of tasks, which, if completed in the same turn, earn you special combo cards with bonus points. The better you plan your moves, the more gifts the forest will reveal to you. Although it looks peaceful, it hides challenges that require wit and careful listening. Whether you're playing for the first time or returning to the forest again, there's always a different journey ahead.
History of the game and its creators
The game is designed by Chilean game designers Cristian Bustos and Bernardo Vásquez. The illustrations were created by Brazilian illustrator Weberson Santiago, who is known for his original style across the gaming world. The game was first released in 2024 under the banner of Chilean publisher Fractal Juegos. It was localized into Czech in 2025.
