Solid wood tops – spruce and red cedar
The top of a guitar, along with its body shape, is the defining element of its sound, determining key aspects of volume, tone, sustain and projection through its vibrations. Spruce, with its renowned stiffness-to-weight ratio, rings out loud and clear. A solid wood top translates vibrations with greater immediacy and tonal purity, responding more directly to the player's intent.
