Xiaomi Range Extender AX1500

Xiaomi Range Extender AX1500
The Xiaomi Range Extender AX extends the coverage of your existing wireless network throughout your home, eliminating spots with a weak or no signal. This extender operates on two frequency bands simultaneously, transmitting data at a total theoretical speed of up to 1501Mbps. The extender uses modern Wi-Fi 6 technology, which increases transmission efficiency and reduces latency when multiple end devices are connected. This gives users a stable connection for video streaming, online gaming or just browsing the web. The extender works in two frequency bands, ensuring reliable data transmission. Setting up and managing the entire system is made easy with the Xiaomi Home mobile app, available for Android and iOS operating systems.

Fast wireless network
The Xiaomi Range Extender AX WiFi extender uses the advanced Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard, which increases transmission speeds compared to older standards. The total theoretical speed is up to 1501Mbps when using both bands simultaneously. On the faster 5GHz band, the transmission speed is 1201Mbps, which you can use for data-intensive transfers. On the 2.4GHz band, it operates at 300Mbps, so this frequency is sufficient for basic tasks like sending emails or browsing text-based websites. Both bands work in parallel, and the extender automatically optimises their use according to the current demands of connected phones, tablets or computers.
Wired connection
The extender's body features a single integrated gigabit Ethernet LAN port with a speed of 10/100/1000Mbps. This port is used to physically connect devices that do not have a wireless module or require a stable, fluctuation-free connection. The wired connection transfers data to game consoles, desktop computers, set-top boxes or smart TVs. This means users can connect a PS4 or TV directly to the extender and enjoy the full speed of their broadband connection. The port eliminates interference caused by wireless wave propagation and helps maintain a smooth data flow for demanding high-resolution streaming.
Stable coverage
This extender fully supports EasyMesh and Xiaomi Mesh network technologies, which link multiple compatible routers and extenders into a single, unified network. The system creates a single network name and password throughout the house or flat. Mobile phones and tablets switch seamlessly to a stronger network node when moving from one room to another. This eliminates the need to manually search for and connect to a different signal source. The technology effectively removes dead spots behind thick concrete walls or in multi-storey houses and maintains a stable connection without dropouts during calls or file downloads.
Signal steering with Beamforming
Integrated Beamforming technology actively locates the position of connected wireless devices in the space. Instead of broadcasting waves omnidirectionally, the transmitter then directs a concentrated beam of signal straight towards smartphones and laptops. This targeted transmission increases connection stability even over longer distances and helps overcome physical obstacles indoors. The extender has two built-in dual-polarised omnidirectional high-gain antennas. These antennas increase signal reception and transmission sensitivity, expand the total coverage area, and prevent speed fluctuations as the user moves around the house.
Dual-band operation
The SmartLink function maintains continuous and secure internet access using a backup connection. If there is an unexpected connection failure on the 5GHz frequency, the system switches to the second frequency in the 2.4GHz band to keep the network running. This automatic switching happens in the background, and the user won't notice any interruption to downloads or video streaming. You can configure the settings for this function to work correctly in the Xiaomi Home mobile app. The hardware configuration includes an improved processor and DDR memory, which together can handle dozens of connected devices simultaneously without increasing network latency.
Converting wired internet in AP mode
The device offers a total of three operating modes, which include extender mode, mesh network mode, and access point (AP) mode. In AP mode, you connect the extender to the main router using a standard Ethernet cable. This setup creates a wireless Wi-Fi network in places where the wireless signal from the original source can no longer reach. AP mode is suitable for connecting desktop computers, TVs, or laptops in remote parts of the building. This makes it easy for users to convert an existing wired setup into stable wireless coverage without complex configuration of network elements and without having to purchase expensive routers.
