Zymafluor 0.25 mg is used to prevent tooth decay. Zymafluor adds fluoride to teeth, which increases the resistance of teeth to cavities. The whole process starts before the teeth are erupted and continues throughout life. The package contains 200 tablets.
Dosage and method of use
Always use Zymafluor 0.25 mg exactly as directed in the package insert. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The daily dose should be adapted to the age of the child and to the amount of fluoride contained in the drinking water and the amount of fluoride ingested from other sources, e.g. from diet or toothpaste.
It is best to take the tablets in the evening before bedtime after brushing your teeth according to the dosage table in the package insert.
Zymafluor is usually given as a single daily dose. For infants, the tablets should be crushed and dissolved in a small amount of water, tea or fruit juice, but not in milk.
Zymafluor has been used for many years in pregnancy in the recommended dosage, i.e. 1 mg per day, without apparent consequences.
The resulting content of fluoride ions in breast milk is negligible.
Contraindications
Read the package insert carefully. Do not use in case of allergy to the medicinal substance or to any of the excipients of this product. Zymafluor should not be taken with milk and dairy products. Administration of Zymafluor should begin no earlier than 6 months of age.
