How does Acetocaustin solution to treat warts work?
Acetocaustine contains monochloroacetic acid, a substance with a keratolytic effect on the skin. Cells containing the wart virus that come into contact with monochloroacetic acid are completely destroyed and the wart dissolves. Because it works in the deep layer of the skin, it is often not immediately recognizable to the patient when the effect has occurred. Acetocaustine only works on common warts on the hands and feet. It is not used on other parts of the body or on age warts.
How long does Acetocaustine Solution treatment for warts last?
Treatment varies from person to person and depends on the type of wart, its size and age. Small, recently discovered warts can disappear after 1-2 applications. Deep-seated plantar warts require longer treatment. If you do not notice any change after about 4 weeks, consult your doctor.
Dosage and method of use
Apply only once a week. 2-4 applications are usually sufficient. Application by adults. Use only on hands and feet! Rub petroleum jelly or zinc ointment into the surrounding skin to protect the skin. Place the bottle on a solid surface that is able to withstand the corrosive. When applying to the nipple/verruca, tap once. Allow the fluid to come into contact with the wart/verruca only. Avoid contact with skin. After application, allow the liquid to dry properly. Leave the nipple/verruca uncovered. The result is noticeable after 1 week. Keep out of reach of children.
