ActiMaris® NASAL Spray is a hypertonic solution of alkaline ionized seawater, containing sea salt (1,2 %), sodium hypochlorite NaOCl (0,04 %) and hypochlorous acid HOCl (0,004 %), which acts on a biophysical basis. Sea salt and sodium hypochlorite provide an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect. The mucous membrane is moistened and cleansed during interaction with ActiMaris® NASAL Spray. Thanks to its composition containing minerals, salts and trace elements, ActiMaris® NASAL Spray also supports the physiological environment on the mucosal surface. Due to its hypertonicity/hyperosmolarity, the solution helps to reduce swelling, dissolves plaque and nasal secretions, and restores nasal patency for breathing. The cleansing effect and the ability ofActiMaris® NASAL Spray to dissolve nasal secretions contribute to an increased sense of well-being and alleviate the typical difficulties in the indications listed. ActiMaris® NASAL Spray is both cell-friendly and antimicrobial, with a rapid onset of action. Sea salt and sodium hypochlorite are natural preservatives that guarantee the long-term stability of ActiMaris® NASAL Spray.
Dosage and method of use
When the head is tilted slightly forward, the product penetrates the middle and lower nasal passages when injected, thus reaching a larger mucosal area for a better effect.
Adults and children from 2 years of age:
Recommended dosage of ActiMaris® NASAL Spray: Always 2 sprays into each nostril 4 to 5 times a day. It can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Young children (under 2 years) and infants:
Always 1 to 2 injections into each nostril 2 to 3 times a day as needed. When using ActiMaris® NASAL Spray, infants and young children should not be placed on their back but on their side. Their head should be slightly raised when doing so. In the case of young children and infants, always consult a paediatrician in advance. For more severe sinus infections and mucosal plaques, ActiMaris® NASAL Spray can be used 2 to 3 times daily in combination with ActiMaris® Wound Gel. At the recommended dosage, a volume of 20 ml (100 μl for each injection) is sufficient for treatment for 7 to 10 days (approximately 200 injections).
You cannot overdose on ActiMaris® NASAL Spray, nor does it have any systemic effects. After contact and reaction with the mucosa, the senasal solution breaks down into water, salt and oxygen. Similarly, it is not possible to form an addiction to this nasal solution.
Contraindications
There are no known side effects so far. Contraindication in case of allergy to the components of the preparation (not yet registered).
Notice
Keep out of reach of children! Avoid direct contact with coloured textiles - the sodium hypochlorite in the product may have oxidising or bleaching effects. In case of contact with coloured textiles, rinse immediately with water.
Storage
ActiMaris® NASAL Spray should be stored at room temperature between +5 °C and +25 °C. The product must be protected from direct sunlight and/or heat. The shelf life is 30 months. The relevant expiry date is printed on the packaging. After the first opening of the spray, the product must be used within 3 months.
