Aescin Teva belongs to the group of veno-pharmaceuticals (medicines used to treat venous diseases) and antivariasis (medicines used to treat varicose veins).
Aescin Teva is indicated for adults for treatment:
chronic venous insufficiency and their associated symptoms, which include:
- Swelling of the lower limbs
- Varicose veins
- Feelings of heaviness in the lower limbs, itching
- Feelings of tension and cramps in the calf area
Dosage and method of use
Adults are given 40 mg 3 times a day (i.e. 3 times a day 2 enterosolvent tablets). For maintenance treatment, 20 mg 3 times a day is usually sufficient (i.e. 3 times a day 1 enterosolvent tablet). Tablets are taken after meals and washed down with a glass of water. Do not take Aescin Teva for more than two months without consulting your doctor
Contraindications
Do not take Aescin Teva 20 mg if you are allergic to escin alfa, or to any of the other ingredients in this medicine. For children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. Aescin Teva 20 mg should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding as the relevant clinical data are insufficient. Read the package insert carefully.
Storage
Always keep the product out of sight and reach of children. Do not take this product after the expiry date stated on the ablister box after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C in the original packaging to protect the product from pre-humidity. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
