Afrin 0.5 mg/ml nasal spray 15 ml

Afrin Nasal Spray contains the medicinal substance oxymetazolini hydrochloridum. Afrin is a decongestant that relieves nasal congestion by constricting blood vessels in the nose. The effect takes effect within minutes and lasts for hours. Afrin is used to symptomatically relieve a stuffy nose in allergic rhinitis, the common cold and sinusitis.
It can be taken every 12 hours. If you do not feel better within 7 days or if you get worse, you must consult a doctor.

💊 Use

Adults and children >10 years:1-2 injections into each nostril every 12 hours.
Children 6-10 years: 1 injection in each nostril every 12 hours.
No more than 8 injections should be administered in 24 hours in adults (4 in children).
Do not exceed the stated dosage. Afrin should not be used for more than 7 days unless otherwise prescribed by your physician. A few days should pass before using the product again.

🍃 Ingredients

The active substance is oxymetazolini hydrochloridum 0.5 mg/ml. Excipients are disodium edetate, sodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, povidon 40, benzalkonium chloride (0,25 mg/ml), macrogol 1500, purified water, benzyl alcohol (2,5 mg/ml), microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, lemon flavouring containing natural and artificial flavours, alcohol and DL-alpha-tocopherol.

⚠️️ Warning

Children:
Do not give Afrin to children under 6 years of age.
Pregnancy:
The use of oxymetazoline is not associated with an adverse pregnancy outcome. Pregnant women can use Afrin if used as recommended. Patients with high blood pressure or symptoms of reduced blood supply to the placenta should be given increased attention. Frequent or prolonged use of high doses may reduce blood supply to the placenta.
Breastfeeding:
It is not known whether oxymetazoline is excreted in breast milk. In view of the lack of data on the use of oxymetazoline during lactation, Afrin should not be used.
If Afrin is used for a prolonged period of time, it can cause a stuffy nose. It is not recommended to use it for more than one week. If your symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days, see your doctor. Read the package leaflet carefully before taking the medicine. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Keep out of reach of children. In case of side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

📦 Storage

Keep out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Protect from cold and frost. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the box and bottle after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Use the product within 30 days of first opening.
