The ALPINESTARS ATEM 5S men's sports jacket is designed for motorcycle riding, with an emphasis on protection and comfort. It's built on a FLEX PLUS RACE cowhide leather base, complemented by A-CS®Tech and HRSF stretch panels for enhanced mobility. Safety features include internal shoulder and elbow protectors, as well as external DFS RR protectors. The jacket is also compatible with TECH-AIR® airbag systems. Perforated areas provide ventilation, while the aerodynamic hump and extended back contribute to its functionality during sports riding.

A combination of leather and stretch materials

The ATEM 5S jacket is based on FLEX PLUS RACE cowhide leather, which provides abrasion resistance. For freedom of movement while riding, the jacket uses Alpinestars Composite Stretch (A-CS®Tech) panels, complemented by areas of HRSF polyamide fabric. These materials are placed in key areas to ensure flexibility. The forearms and cuffs feature RIDEKNIT® knitwear, which adds to the comfort. The cut, with its extended back and pre-curved sleeves, is tailored for a sporty riding position, while the low-profile neoprene collar prevents neck chafing.

Comprehensive rider protection

The ATEM 5S jacket is equipped with several levels of protection. Internal safety is provided by removable NUCLEON FLEX PLUS shoulder and GP elbow protectors. These are complemented by external Dynamic Friction Shield (DFS RR) plastic protectors on the shoulders and elbows, which serve to reduce friction and distribute energy in a crash. The jacket is compatible with TECH-AIR®5 and TECH-AIR®3 airbag systems. The safety features can be further enhanced with back inserts and two-piece chest protectors from the NUCLEON series, for which the jacket is prepared. The entire jacket meets CE Category II certification with an AA classification.

Functional details for a comfortable ride

The ATEM 5S jacket includes several functional elements. An integrated aerodynamic hump contributes to aerodynamics and is ready for a hydro bag to be inserted. Thermal comfort is handled by perforated areas that ensure ventilation. Velcro straps at the waist and YKK zips on the cuffs allow for a custom fit. For storing small items, there are two outer zipped pockets and an inner waterproof pocket that protects the contents from moisture. A perimeter zip allows it to be connected to trousers, creating a full riding suit.
