High-alumina CSG glass is characterised by its high durability, which is why it is used in military applications. In addition, compared to standard glass, it is tempered 3× (heated to very high temperatures) to achieve much higher strength and durability. This is confirmed by the demanding drop ball test – the glass withstands the impact of a 300g steel ball dropped from a height of 2m at least 3× without damage.
DLC coating – high scratch resistance
AlzaGuard 3D DiamondShield protective glass features a special DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating that achieves an exceptional hardness of up to 8 Mohs, approaching that of a diamond. This makes the glass significantly more resistant to mechanical damage such as scratches, while also extending its lifespan. An oleophobic layer to repel fingerprints and grease is a matter of course. Despite its high durability, it does not reduce touch sensitivity or screen brightness in any way.
Flexible yet durable 3D resin edges
Another key feature contributing to the superior durability of the AlzaGuard 3D DiamondShield protective glass is its UV-cured 3D resin edges. They offer the same strength as polished glass edges but with much higher flexibility. Thanks to the combination of CSG glass and resin, the overall durability of the glass is much higher, especially at the most vulnerable areas – the edges. The flexible resin gives the glass higher resistance and better shock-absorption properties, preventing it from cracking.
Everything you need for hassle-free installation
The package includes a cleaning cloth, an alcohol wipe, a dust removal sticker, a guide sticker and, last but not least, an installation frame. You do not have to worry about applying the glass yourself – just follow the steps in the included manual. The adhesive covers the entire surface to ensure perfect adhesion throughout its lifespan.
