Continued expansion of our sales network led to us serving 40% more customers than in the previous year,” she continued. “We concluded 2014 with a total of 45 sales offices across the Czech and Slovak markets, including a 3 brand new state-of-the-art showrooms in the Czech Republic," added Jakoubková.
In 2014, Alza processed more than 4.8 million orders, an increase of 1.8 million over 2013. This growth was significantly aided by the introduction of new services to customers through massive investments in automation and delivery technology. Alza became the only e-shop in the Czech Republic to operate its own network of secure parcel collection boxes called AlzaBox, as well as the first to run a private delivery network under the name AlzaExpres. These new services allow the company to better serve customers and deliver goods at a time that suits them, including evenings and weekends.
„The number of items offered in the product catalog increased by nearly half, from 50 to 72 thousand. Customers can also find brand new product categories, including a wide range of cosmetics and jewelry plus a constantly expanding range of toys. After acquiring a majority stake in e-publishing company Publero, Alza added magazine and newspaper subscriptions to its existing offering of digital content in books, music, and film." adds Jakoubková. Daily website traffic doubled that of 2013, reaching 400,000 users.
In 2015, Alza will seek to continue setting trends and leading the e-commerce business, cementing its position as the place where customers come for the most sought after products and absolute novelties.
