Consumers tend to buy inexpensive goods when choosing to make purchases using their mobile phones. Accessories for computers and electronics are frequently purchased by Alza's mobile customers. When it comes to more expensive and luxurious goods, mobiles are generally used for searching and comparing, with orders being placed later via desktop computers and laptops. "It is usually more comfortable to work with a keyboard and large screen when placing orders. This also offers greater security, especially when it comes to entering payment details, which is something to consider before making purchases in public." adds Jakoubková.
Internet shopping is significantly expanding and online stores are continuously evolving. Companies are investing more to improve customer experience, developing applications specifically for mobile devices with improved security and functionality. Alza.cz for example, has developed a free mobile application for its customers, available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Its iPhone application is the second most downloaded application in the Business category in the Czech Republic; and the Android version is third in the Shopping category.
