Memory support
Support for up to four DDR5 modules in a dual-channel configuration lets you achieve overclocked frequencies of up to 9466MHz and higher, thanks to Memory OC Shield technology, which protects memory modules from electromagnetic interference and optimises the layout for stable operation at high frequencies. The motherboard is compatible with Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles for easy application of preset profiles.
Expansion slots and storage
There are three PCIe slots available – one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x16, and one PCIe 4.0 x4 for connecting graphics cards and other expansion devices. For storage, the board offers one Blazing M.2 slot with PCIe Gen5 x4 support, reaching transfer speeds of up to 128Gb/s, two Hyper M.2 slots with PCIe Gen4 x4, and one Hyper M.2 slot compatible with both PCIe Gen4 x4 and SATA3. All M.2 slots are equipped with XXL screwless aluminium heatsinks for easy SSD installation and efficient heat dissipation. The bottom M.2 drive heatsinks effectively dissipate heat through the motherboard's PCB, maximising performance and maintaining system stability. Four SATA3 connectors are available for conventional storage devices.
Connectivity and networking
Two Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Type-C ports on the rear panel enable data transfers at speeds of up to 40Gb/s and allow you to connect external monitors, Thunderbolt devices, and USB peripherals via a single cable. The front panel USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C header supports a transfer speed of 20Gb/s. Additionally, there are two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, eight USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and six USB 2.0 ports. Lightning Gaming Ports use two different controllers for connecting gaming mice and keyboards with lower latency. The Killer Ethernet E3100 2.5G controller, with Killer GameFast and Killer Prioritization Engine technologies, optimises network traffic for gaming and multimedia applications. Intel Wi-Fi 7 802.11be with Multi-link Operation (MLO) support ensures simultaneous use of multiple bands and channels for higher speeds and lower latency, which is ideal for cloud gaming, 8K video streaming, and video conferencing.
Audio, cooling and design
The Realtek ALC1220 7.1CH HD Audio codec with Nahimic Audio technology offers advanced features like Sound Tracker for 360° audio localisation, static noise suppression, echo cancellation, and voice stabilisation for clear, interference-free communication. An optimised aluminium cooling design covers key components, including the power stages, and ensures efficient heat dissipation during intense gaming sessions. The Hi-Density power connectors are designed for higher currents when overclocking the processor, reducing the risk of instability. The Polychrome RGB system, with onboard RGB and addressable RGB headers, lets you synchronise LED devices including strips, fans, and coolers. The official partnership with SignalRGB provides advanced lighting control and compatibility with a wide range of RGB devices. The Lightning series design is based on linear and angular elements evoking lightning as a symbol of speed and energy.
User-friendliness
The BIOS Flashback function lets you update the BIOS without needing to install a processor, RAM, or other components – all you need is a USB flash drive and a power supply. The Auto Driver Installer with a pre-installed LAN driver ensures easy installation of all necessary drivers without an optical drive. A flexible integrated I/O shield with tolerance space allows for adjustment during installation for a perfect fit in the chassis. The package includes an ARGB Splitter Cable for easy management of multiple ARGB devices through a single controller. A thermistor cable and thermistor header provide additional sources for temperature monitoring and enable the creation of customised cooling management solutions. The motherboard also supports 20K capacitors with a capacity of 1000µF for long-term reliability.
