The VRM on the TUF Gaming B550M-Plus WIFI II motherboard uses 8+2 DrMOS power stages that combine high-side and low-side MOSFETs and a driver into one, delivering the power and efficiency that AMD Ryzen™ 5000 / 5000 G / 4000 G / 3000 series processors demand.
Durable power and reliable cooling
Stack Cool 3+ uses two-ounce copper layers to efficiently dissipate heat from critical components, maintaining optimal operating temperatures and enabling higher processor performance. The upgraded 8-pin ProCool connector, manufactured to strict specifications, ensures full contact with the power supply cables, reducing impedance and preventing hotspots and connector failure. TUF components include certified military-grade chokes for stable processor performance and proprietary capacitors with 52% greater temperature tolerance and 2.5× longer lifespan. The integrated Digi+ VRM voltage regulator provides very clean and smooth power to the processor at all times.

Comprehensive fan control via Fan Xpert 2+ or the UEFI BIOS enables monitoring and response to up to three user-defined temperature sensors, with all headers supporting auto-detection of PWM/DC fans and protected against overheating and overload.

SafeSlot technology
SafeSlot is the PCIe slot reinvented by ASUS and engineered to provide superior retention and shearing resistance. Manufactured using a new insert-moulding process, SafeSlot integrates a fortifying metal, creating a stronger slot, which is then firmly anchored to the PCB through additional solder points.
ESD Guards protection
ESD Guards extend component life while preventing damage from electrostatic discharge, as they provide protection for up to +/- 10kV of air discharge and +/- 6kV of contact discharge. This significantly exceeds the respective industry standards of +/- 6kV and +/- 4kV.
TUF LANGuard protection and durable I/O panel
TUF LANGuard uses military-grade technology with advanced signal-coupling and high-quality capacitors to improve throughput and protect the motherboard from static electricity and lightning strikes.
