The Auraton Hydrus thermostat with contact sensor is used for the automatic control of central heating and domestic hot water circulation pumps. The device switches the connected pump on and off depending on the measured temperature of the system. The 2.3m long contact temperature sensor transmits precise temperature data directly to the control unit. It is designed for surface mounting on a wall or other solid surface. It is powered from a 230V AC mains supply with a power consumption of 1.5W. The output relay operates with a load of up to 1A at 250V AC.

Control
The controller operates with a temperature setting range from 20°C to 90°C. Users can set the hysteresis between 2°C and 8°C for more stable operation. The integrated LED display shows the current measured value in the system and makes it easy to manually select the desired parameters. The user can also set an optimal temperature, typically 40°C, which further increases user comfort.
Protective features
The device includes an AntiStop safety feature, or GUARD, which prevents damage to the system. Outside the heating season, it runs the circulation pump at regular intervals. This process prevents the rotor of the inactive pump from seizing up. Every 14 days, the built-in processor automatically runs the pump for 30 seconds, significantly extending its service life and ensuring reliable operation for a long time.
