The Auraton Tucana weekly programmable thermostat is used to regulate the temperature in heating systems, such as boilers or underfloor heating. This wired model operates on a weekly cycle and allows you to set different temperature levels for individual days. Users can set temperatures ranging from 5°C to 30°C to suit their household's needs. The device uses a backlit LCD display with three backlight colours to show its operating status. It is powered by two 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.

Temperature control and programmes
The controller offers a total of 10 programmes, 7 of which users can set themselves for different days of the week. Users can define two main temperature levels, specifically a day and night temperature, which are complemented by a holiday mode and an anti-frost temperature. The device operates with an adjustable hysteresis of +/- 0.2°C, +/- 0.4°C or in PWM mode. These parameters help to maintain stable, fluctuation-free thermal comfort indoors. Settings are adjusted in an hourly cycle.
Safety features and power
The FrostGuard protection function prevents the heating system from freezing when the temperature drops. Users can set the anti-frost temperature in the range of 4°C to 10°C, with the factory setting at 7°C. The device has an integrated low battery indicator on the display. A quick battery change within thirty seconds will keep the set parameters in the device's memory. The holiday mode operates for a period ranging from one hour to 99 days.

The 80×150×25mm unit requires wall mounting in a dry indoor environment. The device has an IP20 rating and operates at an ambient temperature of 0°C to +45°C. The switching relay can handle a current load of up to 8A at 250V AC. The internal temperature sensor can be calibrated within a range of +/- 3°C. It connects to the heating system via wiring.
