Difference between ECO and PRO oil additives

Metabond PRO allows for higher speeds and delivers a carefree, sportier driving experience over the long term. Thanks to its ester base, it contains a higher concentration of additives and metal surface finishers compared to Metabond ECO. It therefore enables increased power utilisation, acceleration, and even quieter operation with lower temperatures than Metabond ECO. Thanks to the exceptionally low friction properties of nano-ceramics added to the state-of-the-art ashless metal surface finisher and advanced lubrication-improving components, Metabond PRO provides safe lubrication, easing the internal workings of the engine and the movement of engine components to increase engine performance and save fuel. Because the metal surface finisher in Metabond PRO integrates into the rubbing metals and refines their own material, it eliminates cold start problems and provides a protective effect even in the event of short-term partial oil starvation or complete loss of oil pressure. Oil treated with Metabond retains its lubricating properties longer, which extends the oil change interval and reduces environmental impact. The main innovation of Metabond PRO is the ester base oil, which dissolves a larger additive package, allowing us to increase the amount of additives and maximise the overall effect.

University testing

Test results for the Metabond PRO engine oil additive indicate a significant improvement in the protective properties and efficiency of 0W30 oil. Adding the additive reduced wear and improved corrosion resistance, as evidenced by the smaller area of the wear ellipse and lower weight loss of the test ball bearing. We also recorded an increase in the total base number (TBN), indicating better oil neutralisation capabilities. Oil viscosity at high temperatures also remained stable, which promises better oil performance in extreme conditions. The results confirm that the PRO additive can significantly help extend engine life and lubrication efficiency.

Effective protection and better engine lubrication

We recommend Metabond PRO for petrol, diesel, and gas passenger cars developed after the 1990s; add the product to oil of the prescribed quality. Designed for vehicles with or without particulate filters and catalytic converters. After application, friction decreases significantly and lubrication improves. By refining metal surfaces and subsequently reducing friction, you significantly extend engine life. Metabond PRO contains no chlorine, sulphur, phosphorus, or PTFE (Teflon). It is fully filterable, does not react with oil, and does not change its properties. It does not cause corrosion of non-ferrous metals. 

Oil stability and protection under high load

The primary effect of Metabond PRO is the chemical refinement of metal surfaces. The product provides ideal conditions for the formation of an oil film, which reduces engine wear and thus maintenance costs. Using an ester base also increases the potential of the lubricating oil. Metal surface refinement also improves leakage issues, significantly reducing exhaust emissions and potential oil consumption. The additive ensures ideal conditions for the engine oil to work even under extreme loads. It excels in its TBN oxidation stability (treated oil degrades much slower, keeping the oil in better condition for much longer). It prevents oil evaporation and burning at high temperatures. The increase in NOACK is particularly important in motorsport.

Application:
Use in both new and used petrol, diesel, and gas engines of passenger cars (up to 3.5 tonnes) without a Start-Stop system. It is miscible with engine oil of viscosity classes 5W20-30-40-50 or 10W40-50-60 corresponding to manufacturer specifications. It is fully compatible with all mineral, but especially synthetic and ester-based engine oils.
 
Warm the bottle to approximately 30°C (for example, in warm water or on a radiator). Shake thoroughly and pour the contents into the engine oil. We recommend adding Metabond PRO to new oil during a regular oil change. You can also add it to already changed oil, up to a maximum of 3000km from the change. We recommend adding it to warm oil, then let the engine idle for 5 minutes. One 250ml bottle treats 4–8L of engine oil. For engines with higher oil capacity, use two bottles. Use only with oil prescribed by the car manufacturer. For best results, clean the engine with Metabond CL professional engine flush before using Metabond PRO.
Storage:
Store in a dry place at temperatures between -10 and +40°C. Use within 2 years of opening.
