The Spinder RT 1 roof bike rack is used to transport a single bicycle on the roof of a passenger car. Developed in the Netherlands, it meets the requirements for transporting both road and mountain bikes weighing up to 20kg. The construction, made of aluminium, steel and plastic, weighs only 6kg, making it easy to handle when mounting on the vehicle's roof bars. The manufacturer has designed the holders to fix the wheels without any contact with the frame. This allows users to safely transport delicate sports bikes without the risk of scratching the paintwork. The system is also approved for use in the Czech Republic and is TÜV certified.

Secure mounting without frame contact
The wheel mounting mechanism clamps the tyres, with the front wheel fitting into an arched holder and a sturdy strap securing the rear wheel. This system completely eliminates the need to attach any jaws to the bike frame itself. As a result, the holder prevents paint damage and tube deformation on sensitive carbon or thin-walled frames. You can adjust the plastic wheel holders to fit various tyre sizes up to 80mm wide, which is equivalent to 3.2 inches. The rack safely transports one bicycle with a maximum weight of up to 20kg.
Compact Spinder RT 1 roof bike rack
The rack's design allows it to be easily folded into a compact size when not in use. The folding mechanism makes it much easier to store in a garage, cellar or even in your flat, where it won't take up unnecessary space. The low weight of 6kg makes it comfortable to carry in one hand. A protective bag is also available as an optional accessory, which can be used to store the folded frame and protect it from dust and scratches during storage.
Roof rack compatibility
Attaching the rack to the crossbars is very quick thanks to the integrated quick-release lever. The package includes standard T-bolts with a compatible head size of 20×20mm for mounting into aluminium profiles with a T-track. This means the rack fits easily onto roof profiles from various brands, including Thule. If your car uses steel crossbars without a T-track, you can secure the rack using the included U-profile on rectangular bars with a maximum cross-section of 60×30mm.
Anti-theft protection for the Spinder roof bike rack
The manufacturer has integrated a dual locking system into the roof rack for protection during transport and at stops. An integrated cable lock and a rotary lock secure the bike itself to the support structure and prevent unauthorised removal. A second separate lock then firmly attaches the rack itself to the car's roof bars. These security features protect your sports equipment from theft in car parks.
Aerodynamic design
The slim and lightweight profile, made from a combination of steel, aluminium and plastic, creates minimal air resistance while driving. The aerodynamic shape helps to reduce the car's fuel consumption and overall noise during fast motorway driving. The rack can handle driving with a loaded bike at up to the maximum permitted speed of 130km/h. The design is suitable for carrying conventional bikes with a wheel diameter of up to 75cm, but it is not recommended for heavy e-bikes that exceed the rack's permitted weight limit.
Suitable for carbon frames
The mounting system is specifically designed to avoid any contact with the frame tube of the transported bike. Owners of sports models can safely transport carbon frames of any unconventional shape and cross-section. The pressure from the clamping elements is applied only to the tyres and rims, completely eliminating the risk of cracking or scratching expensive carbon fibres. The rack is also compatible with bikes equipped with disc brakes, but it requires the front mudguard to be removed for proper seating in the front arch.
